THE ROYAL AGE OF - INDIA AND 4 WARRIERS OF ROYAL INDIA

The republic Warriers of India is the second most populous country and the most populous democracy in the world. One can only imagine the machinery that goes into the proper governance of such a country. India boasts a rich and vibrant history, most of it ingrained in its many empires and Warriers. The 8 most famous Indian Kings and Emperors give us a glimpse into India’s Vibrant History.

• Emperor Akbar •

AKHBAR

He was from the Mughal empire and was one of the greatest monarchs in the history of India. He was born in 1542 to Mughal emperor Humayun and Hamida Banu Begum. His father was in exile hence Akbar was raised by his paternal uncles, spending time hunting, horse riding, playing sword, and running which made him a trained and skillful warrior. 

He did not attend regular school and hence did not learn to read and write. Rather he had various subjects such as history, religion, science, phillosophy, and other topics recited to him. It is markable that this made him knowlegable in almost all subjects, illitaracy not witb standing. Akbar was a Muslim and one of the most powerful emperors of the Mughal Dynasty and builf a large empire expanding over most of the Indian Subcontinent .

He had an early start as emperor as his father died when he was 13. He went after territories and states in the northern, western and eastern regions, especially punjab, Delhi, Agra, Rajputana, Gujrat, Bengal, kabul, Baluchistan which he conqured. This brought most of India under his control.

• Chandragupt Maurya •

CHANDRA GUPT MAURYA

He founded the Morya Empire and warriers, which streched across Kashmir in the North to Deccan Plateau in the south and Afganistan and Balochistan in the west to Bengal and Assam in the East. He seized the Macedonian territories and conqured the eastern territories of Alexander’s general Seleucus making his territory even larger. 

He wad one of the most important rulers and warriers in the History of India who is credited with unifying small independent states in India to form a large single kingdom under one administration. A young Chandragupt Maurya destroyed the Nanda Dynasty, which ruled most os northern India. This was quite an achievement for a 20 year old.

 

• Samudragupta •

SAMUDRAGUPTA

He was a masterful military tactician and leader and warriers of the Gupta Dynasty from 335 – 375. Choosen above his elder brothers to succeed King Chandragupta I, the young man immidiately set out on a series of military expeditions in order to expand the Gupta empire & warriers and unify the nation.

 India st this stage had reverted to a patchwork of indipendent kingdoms, and to achieve his goal Samudragupta had to defeat everyone of them, exterminating the opposing monarchs along the way.

 By the time of his death, he had annexed more than twenty kingdoms and his military might have seen neighbouring states in Iran and Afghanistan become tax-paying tributaries. Samudragupta’s legacy was an empire, stretching from the Himalayas to the central India, that would last until the year 500. 

• Emperor Shah Jahan •

SAHAN JAHAN

The world has Emperor Shah Jahan to thank for giving her the magnificence that is Taj Mahal. The Emperor constructed the ivory white marble mausoleum in memory of his wife the Empress Mumtaz Mahal who died during childbirth. Shah Jahan was known for his love for architecture. He was the fifth and greatest Mughal Emperor of India, from an inpressive lineage. 

His father was Emperor Jahangir while his grandfather was Akbar the Great. He was the third born son and it was unlikely that he would be heir to the throne. However, it had be predicted that he would be emperor.

Shah Jahan kept off politics for a long time, but his interest gradually grew. He eliminated all contenders and became close to his father who named Jahan Emperor upon his death. He took to the throne and embarked on tactics to expand his vast empire. For someone who once had no interest in politics, its uncharacteristic that Shah Jahan grew impatient for the crown and attempted to overthrow his father.
